19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard surfaces

A resurgent Medvedev won his initial title for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has had a torrid period, winning just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the US Open.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-term coach Cervara.

Presently training with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set win over challenger Moutet.

This marks his maiden trophy after the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt from spring of that year.

Victory also signifies the Russian has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct events.

"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters together, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my child my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his last six finals, featuring in Halle in the past months.

The player's retrieving play style and frequent emotional displays on court had caused observers to question if his skill to perform at the top level was concluded.

But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and compete aggressively, supported by an enhanced service.

He fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the last five games to gain the advantage.

The competitors traded service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his initial tour title, took control to create a third set.

The opponent rescued four early-game opportunities in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he clinched the title with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
